KOMAN Holdings, through its subsidiaries, provides, environmental consulting services, construction, remediation, civil contracting, civil engineering, and timber and forest management. The KOMAN family has an immediate need for an Instructional Designer based in Clearfield, Utah.

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for partnering with stakeholders across the KOMAN family of companies to design, develop and deliver training that meets the strategic and operational goals of the business.

In a typical day the designer will:
  • Partner with executive sponsors and industry leading Subject Matter Experts to define, design, and implement standalone and comprehensive learning solutions.
  • Develop and implement training curriculum and courses using a variety of delivery methods including e-learning modules, virtual instructor-led sessions, blended learning and in-person classroom instruction.
  • Design curricula and programs; determining the scope of the curriculum or program, specify courses based upon needs assessment outcomes, sequence courses for learners and groups.
  • Develop and create learning messages that accommodate learner needs and characteristics, content, and objectives.
  • Design presentations that that effectively engage and communicate with all audiences.
  • leverage project management, communication, and creative skills to create best in class learning objects across a variety of modalities.
  • Take big complex ideas and design learning content and experiences that are credible, engaging, relevant and accessible.
  • Lead basic courses and facilitate as second instructor for virtual training.
  • Plan, develop and maintain project documentation such as course outlines, instructor guides, student manuals, presentation slides, etc.
  • Maintain and Improve existing courseware, collateral, and case studies to ensure use of the most current adult learning research.
  • Create training evaluations and/or knowledge and performance assessments for all training deliverables.
  • Analyze the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their use in an instructional environment.
  • Assist in the development and upkeep of applicable policies, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI).
Top candidates will have a BS or MS degree in Instructional Design, Education or Management with at least 5+ years of experience in an instructional design/training capacity involving curriculum design/development and print training material development. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Certification is preferred. We are seeking skilled candidates that have outstanding interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills with the ability to develop e-learning courses. Expertise in applying learning theory to develop instructional design strategies is also preferred. Knowledge and application of best practices using technology for teaching and learning, including but not limited to, multimedia development, learning management systems, web conferencing tools is desired.
