Position Description

Lead, A&P Mechanic - Balance Lab is directly responsible for all work performed in the Balance Lab. Coordinates jobs with the Engine, Airframe Service, and Inspection departments, and customer requests. Deploys manpower and equipment in the most efficient and effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction. Provides technical guidance to Gear and Turbine Overhaul Mechanics. Responsible for repairs on all product line turbine rotor assemblies, compressor rotor assemblies, compressor blisks, and impellers for all product lines, and the moment weight testing for turbine engines. Oversees the dismantle, clean, inspect, rework, balance and assembly of HPT, LPT for HTF product line. Ensures that maintenance documentation is complete and accurate; detailing labor, materials, and work accomplished. Complies with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Quality Procedures (QPs), and Local Work Instructions. Is considered directly in Charge of Maintenance as defined in 14 CFR Part 145.

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid FAA-authorized Airframe and Powerplant License or must meet all requirements to obtain a FAA Repairman's Certificate. Must be appropriately certificated in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65.

Five years experience as a Gear and Turbine Overhaul Mechanic in the Balance Lab or five years experience in component repair and balance.

Technical ability on all component repairs in the areas of heavy maintenance, light maintenance, and service bulletins.

Ability to diagnose and resolve (i.e. troubleshoot) technical problems.

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities to achieve quality maintenance within established time frames.

Above average written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, walk, bend, stretch and climb ladders.
