SUMMARY: The Sr. Commercial Modeling Analyst leads the development and maintenance of commercial pricing models and related pricing and profitability tools. The position will represent Commercial & Marketing cross functionally to understand all cost drivers and incorporate into cost models accordingly, as well as to identify additional tool requirements. The Sr. Commercial Modeling Analyst will also be responsible for the training of the Commercial Modeling Analyst on all existing and new models.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Determine needs for development of new Commercial & Marketing tools
Full development and maintenance of pricing models for Cross Border, Domestic and US Inbound products
Align with cross-functional stakeholders on all model cost inputs and assumptions
Determine inputs and builds complex formulas for rate analysis
Lead stakeholder meetings with the network and operations to ensure proper costs are regularly maintained and incorporated in profitability and pricing models
Lead efforts to continuously add intelligence and automation in pricing models
Implement proper controls and audits to ensure cost coverage
Coordinate efforts to stress test cost inputs against actual results and provide feedback to cost owners to minimize gap
Develop and maintain profile management tool with input from managers
Develop and maintain predictive gross margin tool with input from managers
Direct training and activities of Commercial Modeling Analyst
Identify additional automated options for commercial pricing and reporting
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related degree
5-8 years of experience in a similar role preferably in the logistics industry or Master's degree and 3 years of experience
First Choice or Six Sigma trained and certified is a plus
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
High energy with solid analytical mindset
Strong ability to quickly become familiarized with new tasks and/or information
Expert knowledge in data mining, modeling and analysis using SQL, Microsoft Access and Excel
Proficient in identifying and solving problems, and utilizing analytics and modeling techniques
Self-starter able to work well under pressure, perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
Ability to translate large data sets to key business messages
Excellent communication skills
Experience with SAP a plus
