What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Write winning responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including the delivery of value-added, comprehensive and competitive solutions; support sales teams in authoring proposals for large, complex third-party logistics (3PL), fourth-party logistics (4PL) and lead logistics provider (LLP) projects

  • Gather accurate information and perform detailed solution design to fully define requirements and recommend approach

  • Develop a value-added approach to supply chain challenges by employing analysis, innovation and experience within the target market; perform modeling or direct a modeling team for more complex solution design

  • Deliver qualitative and quantitative value; describe the solutions and present them to customers

  • Identify and implement improvements to existing operations

  • Perform analyses; understand the use of optimization/decision support tools to perform global supply chain studies, routing optimization and transportation rate analyses


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5 years of supply chain experience, preferably both domestic and international

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Project, PowerPoint, Visio), optimization tools like Infor Supply Chain Design and Transportation Planner (formerly SSA Global and CAPS Logistics) and/or ILOG and simulation tools (AutoMod, Arena, etc.)


It'd be great if you also have:

  • MBA or Master of Science degree

  • Experience with truck, ocean, rail and air transportation; experience with inventory management, including DRP and MRP, warehouse site selection, material handling, facility design and operations, and consulting

  • Proficiency in logistics decision support systems in the areas of routing and scheduling, distribution network design, resource planning, load planning, warehouse design and inventory planning

  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art technology and supply chain, warehousing and transportation best practices

  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience

  • Outstanding business, financial, quality and project management skills

  • Strong analytical skills, including solid spreadsheet and database knowledge
