Job Description:

Our Loan Servicing department is looking for a Manager, Loan Servicing (Mortgage Loans) to join their team. The role of the Manager, Loan Servicing (Mortgage Loans) is to profitably direct and administer the growth, service, and operations of the Loan Servicing department.  Oversees all post-closing mortgage loans and credit reporting processes and procedures to ensure that Loan Servicing functions are performed accurately and completed in a timely manner.

Manager, Loan Servicing (Mortgage Loans) Duties & Responsibilities


  • Leads the Loan Servicing function by communicating, coordinating, coaching and reviewing direct reports to ensure efficient operations, appropriate controls and appropriate levels of productivity and effectiveness. Ensures the development of Assistant Manager Positions through the creation and monitoring of development or growth plans to prepare these roles for future leadership opportunities within the credit union.

  • Coordinates, automates, and streamlines the work processes of mortgage loans and credit reporting functions.  Establishes productivity and measurement standards for staff to increase the operational efficiency of the department.

  • Establishes and maintains operating procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations.  Makes recommendations regarding the automation of servicing procedures, and drives the implementation of improvements to processes, work methods, and systems to improve the member experience.  Manages relationships with third-party vendors who provide products or services in support of Loan Servicing, ensuring that all contractual service levels are met.

  • Develops strategies and goals in order to support SCCU mission, vision, strategies and business plans.  Formulates strategic plans for the Loan Servicing Department to meet individual objectives, growth and other goals.

  • Prepares annual budget projections for the department, operates within its guidelines and monitors departmental performance in order to operate within SCCU financial objectives.

  • Coordinates and communicates with employees and various credit union departments regarding changes in loan servicing policies/procedures, laws/regulations.

  • Ensures that system loan parameters are appropriately established within the SCCU system and appropriately correspond to loan documentation for every type of loan.  Ensures that the reviews of system generated reports are done routinely and timely to identify input/system errors relating to mortgage loans in order to ensure accurate loan product performance post-closing.

  • Performs the duties of the Assistant Manager during absences and vacancies.

Manager, Loan Servicing (Mortgage Loans) Qualifications


  • High School plus additional course work gained through attendance at vocational, technical or business school.  Some college experience preferred. 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a financial institution and/or related industry required, including a minimum of one year prior supervisory/management experience. 

  • Knowledge of and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the servicing of consumer loans and credit reporting.

  • Ability to interpret and understand relevant government laws, regulations, and compliance including CFPB, NCUA, TILA, RESPA, FNMA, FCRA, and other loan regulations.

  • Ability to analyze statistical data.
