Job Description:

Xandr is looking for an experienced Lead ETL Developer to join our fast paced team. We’re working on a cutting-edge advertising reporting & analytics platform built on Snowflake + Looker. This role will focus on designing ETLs to deploy large data sets on a cloud centric platform used to power business critical analytics.

This role is ideal for a candidate who has a keen interest, and significant experience in working with large data sets to develop a Business Intelligence (BI) platform including reports, visualization, and data feeds, within the Media & Advertising ecosystem. The outputs and data sets of this platform are used for business operations, campaign planning & post-campaign reporting, which include campaign data, audience data and impression data across multiple data sources.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Orchestration and coordination of group’s development activities – team of 5-10
  • Develop scripts or workflows to facilitate complex ingress processes (currently using Python)
  • Design & Develop ETL code
  • Participate in and/or lead design and code reviews of junior engineers and cross team
  • Document implemented ETL designs for team use
  • Develop automated test scripts
  • Participate in Daily Scrum calls as well as sprint planning sessions to support development efforts.  Proficient in SAFE Agilemethodology.
  • Effectively use Jira to estimate & track user stories and tasks
  • Proactively review, streamline and suggest improvements to our current processes and documentation
  • Establish a good working rapport with Development group, System Engineers, Quality Assurance/Testers, and Business users

    • Requires 5-10 years of experience as an ETL developer
    • Minimum of 3 years as a Senior ETL developer or ETL Lead  
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Media and Advertising Technology
    • Good Understanding of Databases and Datawarehouse tools
    • Experience working with Workflow tools (such as Apache AirFlow)
    • Experienced in Python development
    • Expert-level SQL skills, including query optimization & stored procedures
    • Prior Experience working with Cloud based data warehouses
    • Some experience working in AWS environments (currently using S3 and EC2)
    • Experience using Git or Source Code Control System in a multi-developer setting
    • Experience working in an Agile environment
    • Requires minimal supervision
    • Communicates & collaborates effectively with the team


    Good to have, but not necessary:

    • Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI)\Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines
    • Knowledge of QA test automation
    • Experience with Unix Shell \ Bash scripting
    • Familiar with Data visualization/Business Intelligence tools
