We meet the audience where it is with the programs it wants.

Scripps Networks is looking for a VP, Creative Services responsible for developing and implementing innovative and creative promotional campaigns that reach across multiple networks and platforms.

What you'll do:


  • Oversee all aspects of creative services for Scripps Networks, which include ION, Bounce, LAFF, Grit, Mystery, Court TV and Newsy


  • Oversee creative conceptualization, development and execution for original programming promotion and daily network operations, including show launches, award shows, branding campaigns, programming stunts, sports and original movies


  • Work closely with individual network leads to manage the production workflow for this multi-network Creative Services department


  • Evaluate, organize and oversee daily interactions of the Creative Services team within the department, and connected departments within the organization


  • Collaborate with marketing on all custom sales initiatives


  • Manage project priorities and work closely with the design department, marketing and outside vendors to ensure timely delivery of all projects


  • Lead creative direction on multiple campaigns simultaneously, across various networks, assuring all projects are on strategy and on brand


  • Evolve the Scripps Networks team culture by taking calculated creative risks, nurturing new and disruptive ideas, and producing groundbreaking creative for network promotional and marketing campaigns


  • Partner with design, marketing, and operation leads across the company to drive and manage consistency and continuity across platforms, programs and viewer touch points


  • Be highly communicative and responsive both within your team and across the company while managing a large volume of active projects


  • Track initiatives and allocate resources to ensure that projects stay on deadline and within budget


What you'll bring:

Education & Experience/Certifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or other related field preferred


  • 12+ years’ experience in a creative services group at a cable or broadcast television network


  • 5+ years’ experience in managing creative staff and directing creative work


Skills & Abilities


  • Proven leadership in the creation and implementation of brand identity and integrated campaign-driven environment, plus the ability to package and pitch those concepts


  • Ability to articulate a vision and strategy in a manner that inspires and motivates others to understand, meet and exceed expectations


  • Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and the ability to react quickly, dynamically, and intelligently


  • Excellent verbal and communication skills


  • Possess strong financial/budgetary acumen


  • Strong knowledge of broadcast TV operations, television branding and pop culture, on-air strategies and tactics that drive ratings and viewership


  • Proven track record of creating high-quality work, including demonstrated experience in all facets of on-air promotions production - from script writing, to art direction, producing, music and voice over selection, animation and graphics


  • Must be able to manage vendors to include outside production companies, directors, photographers and agencies


  • Must possess strong industry relationships, knowledge of industry standards and best practices


  • Self-starter with flexibility to multi-task, operate within budgetary and schedule constraints and thrive in a collaborative environment
