Job Description:

Credit Risk assesses, permissions and manages credit and counterparty risks on an industry, client, geographic and transaction basis. Credit risk is the risk of loss arising from the default of a client or counterparty. The Credit Risk function identifies, measures, limits, manages and monitors credit risk across our businesses. Credit exposure arises through underwriting, lending and trading activities with and for clients and counterparties, as well as from a range of operating services such as cash management and clearing activities.

Responsibilities:


  • Daily Reg B and Lending Connect Management for team
  • Lead the pipeline calls from your assigned markets.
  • Weekly Quality Assurance with QC reviews
  • Monthly remediation for QC and QA corrections
  • Daily tracking, monitoring and reporting of past due and forward look PDARs
  • Loan review, audit and action plan involvement as needed.
  • Weekly meeting with Regional Underwriting Manager
  • Underwriting activities (30% of your activity)
  • Admin Proposals for corrections or NRD pushes
  • FSTs or analytics as needed for live deals or prospects
  • Training Junior Underwriters to enhance their analyses
  • Complete elements on analysis as required for Operations, CE or LA when employee is out of the office.
  • Find resources outside of team for analyses as needed.
  • Project engagement to completion.
  • Quarterly calls with Lending Advisory and Credit Executives for feedback
  • Seek quarterly feedback from Operations partners to share with the team
  • Involvement in Engagement Team, People Council or BRGs to promote inclusion
  • Engagement and delivery of credit projects, policy enhancements and procedural documents as needed.
  • Prioritization advocate for the markets and Clients.
  • Available for Partners
  • Monthly metric sheet review
  • Monthly EMR prep and quarterly presentation
  • Manage and maintain vacation calendars
  • Weekly or bi-weekly team meetings
  • Monthly monitoring of required training (forward looking)
  • Performance Management
  • Monthly One on One feedback on how employee is doing in comparison with peers. Follow one on one guidance provided by employee opinion survey team
  • Challenge and retain top talent
  • Performance Plans as needed
  • Allow employees time for technology testing and development
  • Involved in firmwide initiatives (Risk People Council, Diversity champion, Engagement Team, using philanthropic day for Good Works events)

Qualifications:

The candidate should possess strong analytic skills and problem-solving capabilities, be an excellent communicator, detail-oriented, and organized. Individual should have a thorough knowledge of Capital Markets and Operating Companies. Individual must be able to work in a high production environment while meeting or exceeding agreed upon targets for volume, timing and quality. Must have a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork to contribute to high-performing teams through development of self and others.


  • Graduate degree required; Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of JPMC software applications and a broad knowledge of bank products and services will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm and the team.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Previous people management experience is preferred .
