Pharmacy Technician at Ascension

Job Description:
We Are Hiring: Work Schedule: Day shift with some rotating weekends (6:30AM -3:00PM/7:00AM -3:30PM)

What You Will Do: Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist.

  • Refill and maintain automated dispensing system.
  • Prepare order and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
  • Repackage bulk medications.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies.
  • Serve as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professional by providing information as necessary.
What You Will Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcare Association preferred.
Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
  • Maryland registered pharmacy technician with at least 2 years of hospital (inpatient) experience.
  • Must be PTCB certified with demonstrable experience in sterile compounding, prepacking, pyxis machines.
  • Some experience with electronic health record such as Meditech. Medication reconciliation experience a plus
