Director of Process Quality and Improvement
Position Summary:
Oversees and directs all aspects of the university's process quality and improvement programs and initiatives.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Develops and implements total quality processes, policies, and procedures to improve operational practices.
2. Responsible for auditing the organization's current process quality programs and planning strategic initiatives to ensure issues are successfully addressed and adhere to organizational goals.
3. Defines and develops the organization's process methods, parameters, and procedures; evaluates, analyzes, and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes; develops and implements sustainable and quantifiable business process improvements.
4. Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data; collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost.
5. Collaborates with IT to determine how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes.
6. Implements process improvement projects through cross-functional departmental involvement.
7. Provides expertise in Six Sigma analytical and statistical tools; develops and communicates project plans, schedules, costs, and progress to leadership.
8. Manages Human Resources activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection; hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
9. Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded; financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum Experience:
Seven (7) years of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
