Data Analytics at J.P. Morgan Corporate Investment Bank combines cutting edge machine learning techniques with the company's unique data assets to optimize all the business decisions we make. The role will be in the firm's Applied AI and Machine Learning organization and will involve working closely with Wholesale Payments.

Morgan Wholesale Payments organization combines four lines of business: Merchant Services, Treasury Services, Commercial Card and Trade Finance to help clients manage working capital and increase operational efficiency. Merchant Services is the global payment processing business for JPMorgan Chase & Co. Merchant Services is the world's leading merchant acquirer with over $1 trillion in annual transaction volume. Merchant Services is a leading provider of payment, fraud and data security for companies large and small and capable of authorizing transactions in more than 130 currencies.

As an Applied AI / ML Associate you,

• Join team of highly talented data scientists, design strategists, and business leaders creating and building a data product focusing on increasing revenue for our merchant clients by approving the most card transactions at the lowest possible cost.

• Build and deploy machine learning models optimizing payment performance on an emerging payment platform with extensive capabilities.

• Design, build, maintain and improve machine learning models optimizing 1M+ payment message combinations meeting specific card issuer preferences in real time.

• Implement models that can intelligently routes billions of payments significantly increasing the authorization rates for our merchants

• Bring order to disparate requirements with high tolerance for ambiguity, very strong problem solving ability, and excellent client engagement skills

• Articulating model findings, trade-offs, assumptions clearly and concisely including presentations, discussions and visualizations.

• Influencing the product and decision making across the technical stack, articulating capabilities, requirements and work with product and tech partners to determine how best to integrate ML module and serving real-time predictions capabilities in the platform

Qualifications

Who you are

• Quantitative background -Advanced Degree in analytical field (e.g. econometrics, statistics, Operations research, engineering, mathematics, computer science). 2+ year's relevant experience. Expertise in data mining, quantitative research techniques, theories, principles, and practices.

• Deep understanding of statistics, optimization and machine learning methodologies. Machine learning techniques will include familiarity or knowledge in several of the following areas: supervised learning, pattern detection, time series analysis, mathematical optimization and neural networks.

• Experience with topics such as hypothesis testing, multi-arm bandits, and reinforcement learning will be a major plus.

• Experience with machine learning APIs and computational packages (examples: TensorFlow, Theano, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-Learn, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, statsmodels).

• Experience with big-data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SparkML, etc.

• Must be able to undertake basic and advanced EDA, should be aware of limitation and implication of methodology choices.
