Job Summary








The Mechanical Designer II participates in a team environment consisting of engineers and designers to produce construction documents for the following systems:HVAC wet/dry, plumbing, controls and the like.


Duties & Responsibilities


* Assists in developing mechanical/HVAC/Plumbing construction documents using architectural background layouts and system performance requirements defined by the project team including the architect, engineer and project manager

* Assists senior staff with services during construction, including responding to RFIs, shop drawing and submittal review, and as-built drawings

* Assists in pre-design project activities, such as site assessment, site plan review, and verification of as built conditions

* Assists project team to find optimum system sizing, routing, materials, and space management for ductwork and piping systems

* Contributes to continuous improvement processes of the Company

* Coordinates with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering/ internal and external)

* Assists in developing projects in compliance with engineering codes, standards, principles, relevant specifications and contractual requirements

* Assists in the production of construction documents under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and coordinate with other disciplines

* Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables

* Assists in the development of construction drawings, details, schedules and diagrams for HVAC, process mechanical and plumbing systems

* Assists in performing quality control reviews of work developed by others

* Other duties as assigned


Requirements


* High School Diploma or GED required

* Associate's degree with technical focus preferred

* 3+ years of experience

* Advanced Technology experience preferred

* Autodesk Building Systems Software

* Experience working within a team environment

* Experience in the quality control review process.

* Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes

* Good time management skills, strong work ethic and attention to details

* Proficient in the use Autodesk Building Systems Software

* Individual must possess strong communication and organizational skills

* Strong team player with an ability to build effective working relationships

* Energetic and self-motivated
