Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The primary role of the Maintenance Mechanic is to provide high end, complex and effective maintenance support to Manufacturing Maintenance, Engineering and Operations. Ability to perform work safely and execute the maintenance program codes is paramount. Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic will provide oversight and coordination to maintenance activities assessment, support planning and execution during the assigned shift. Must be able to identify, troubleshoot and repair problems in all areas of mechanical and electrical. Must be able to troubleshoot, identify and remediate equipment issues and perform preventive maintenance activities, provide on call services when required. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for Equipment Performance (Preventative Maintenance) on a shift-by-shift basis.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

• Performs scheduled maintenance on manufacturing machines and systems.
• Repairs the malfunction of machines, systems and auxiliary equipment.
• Routinely checks on machinery and systems for signs of fault in order to prevent or minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Initiates improvement on the functionality of machines and equipment to increase its efficiency.
• For more senior positions, might act as a team leader to ensure that the work meets agreed targets by directly overseeing team members.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the field's policies, procedures and practices.
• Will become the subject matter expert at higher levels of job.
• Documents activities accordingly.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

• Required to apply advanced working knowledge of technical field/area of specialization. Exercises general application of principles, theories and concepts, and proposes a course of action. Performs advance shop floor competencies.
• Works under general supervision. May periodically assist in orienting, training, assigning & checking the work of other peers.
• May require some limited judgement in resolving problems.
• Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Occasional contact with external contractors/vendors.
• Experience working in a Pharmaceutical or Medical Device environment preferred.

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications -Education/Experience/Training/Etc

Required:

• High school diploma/G.E.D required, Associate's or technical degree preferred.
• Related experience OR PBS requirements completed and pass assessment at appropriate level.
• Regular and predictable on-site attendance
• Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
