If you are a Technician professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Mt. Pleasant, WI location, you will assist lab supervisor, Engineering Technicians, and Engineers in performing technical tasks.  AS A LAB ASSISTANT, YOU WILL: 


  • Assist Engineering Technicians in the performance of general test lab tasks.
  • Provide assistance to Engineering Technicians in setting up standard mechanical and/or electrical tests.
  • Assist in the testing and evaluation of components for conformance to quality and engineering standards and specifications.
  • Research and acquire components, sub-assemblies and routine lab operating supplies from both internal and external sources.
  • Create test food grind loads per industry standards and engineering test requests.
  • Maintain test report folders for commercial disposers, household disposers, and water products.
  • Review all test reports for accuracy and completeness and update equipment used spreadsheet for traceability.
  • Maintain clean and orderly equipment and work areas throughout the lab.
  • Operate a company owned vehicle for the pickup and/or delivery of information and materials.
  • Lead lab improvement projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee calibration of test lab equipment and manage the calibration certificates in Gage Trak

WHO YOU ARE:You use planning tools and software. You solicit both input and discussion. You put the team and organization first.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work as part of a team.
  • Experience using Microsift Suite tools. 
  • Possess a good knowledge and understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing devices and their function.
  • Ability to operate and work with hands and power tools, and to measure parts using micrometers, gages, or other precision instruments. 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.  
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided. 

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • Course work in mechanical drawing, mathematics, electricity and other related subjects desirable. Trade school or other formal training is preferred.
  • Should be familiar with InSinkErator product lines, manufacturing methods and relationships between departments.
  • Ability to run machine tools (mill, lathe, etc.) is a plus.
