The Credit Review Analyst I position provides an entry into the Credit Review Department and will join team members in fulfilling the overall mission to maintain the accuracy of risk ratings, and identify existing, increasing, or emerging risks within the loan portfolio. The primary function of the Credit Review Analysist I will be to review the loan portfolio with a focus on credit underwriting and credit file quality, adherence to regulatory requirements, policy, and approval guidelines, and identify loan documentation deficiencies. The Credit Review Analyst I should have basic loan knowledge and, with a high degree of guidance, will identify and assess risk and strive to provide efficient and effective written communication of findings to various audiences.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Credit Review Analyst I selects and conducts a credit review of new consumer and commercial loans generally under $1MM to identify weaknesses or deficiencies in:
Risk Grade Accuracy
Credit Underwriting
Credit Approval
Adherence to Regulatory and Policy Compliance
Adequacy and Completeness of Documentation
Credit File Quality
Problem Credit Identification and Management
Adequacy and Accuracy of Reports and Information Systems
Prepares meaningful, concise reporting of results, ensuring that all pertinent issues are properly recognized and clearly articulated to senior management, with oversight
Prepares and monitors various reports (e.g., extension report)
Participates in special projects, targeted and business unit reviews
Continually broadens knowledge of Regulatory and Bank policy, guidelines, processes, and best practices
Minimum Required Skills and Competencies:
1 – 3 years of experience in Credit Review, Credit Analysis, lending or equivalent
BA/BS in Finance, Business or Accounting preferred, but not required
Basic knowledge of credit and/or lending with the willingness to develop and learn
Basic knowledge of loan structuring and documentation
Basic knowledge of Regulatory and Bank Policy
Basic accounting, finance, and credit analysis skills
Effective and efficient writing skills
Sound judgment, developed decision making skills and strong interpersonal skills
Communication skills to maneuver through adversarial situations in a fair and respectful manner
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience with ImageCentre and Insight are desirable but not required
