The Operator - CNC/Welder is responsible for producing CNC machined torque converter components and for operatoring secondary processes/machines like welding and hardening here in Business Unit Transmission Technologies in Schaeffler Group North America at the Wooster, Ohio facility.

The Operator - CNC/Welder is responsible for quality checks using appropriate gages as necessary. The Operator - CNC/Welder must pay significant attention to detail, must be self-motivated, must be able to function as a team member in a group incentive environment, and will need to cooperate and communicate with all levels of the department and organization. The Operator - CNC/Welder may be called to work on other Assembly areas as needed. The Operator - CNC/Welder will maintain productivity standards and perform changeover, must perform self inspections, will adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand in stationary position. The employee is frequently required to use hands to maneuver objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds based on component specifications. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

This position is required to know and understand the current specifications of the Quality Policy and procedures, as well as the Safety and Environment Policy and procedures and contribute to the achievement of the company objectives. In addition to the duties listed above , the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by his supervisor that are essentially related to his duties.
