The Role - Who You’ll Work With & What You’ll Do 

 

Upon contract award, the TPG Assistant Program Director - Post Release Services will work closely with the Program Director, Reunification Managers, Clinical Services, other TPG staff or stakeholders as applicable and in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Office or Refugee Resettlement’s (ORR) Reunification Management Unit and its care providers.

The TPG Assistant Program Director - Post Release Services is responsible to foster a quality-of-care culture that personnel should provide to the families and children served; a successful administration and management of duties across the Case Management staff within the Post Release Reunification program through ongoing program management and technical support to include but not limited to assessing trending patterns to include training gaps for staff as well as provide innovative sustainability across offices to ensure the effectiveness and quality of services.  The APD, Post Release Services will also oversee and maintain consistency with professional standards, contract regulations, and ORR expectations and serves as an additional liaison for all relevant stakeholders (e.g., foreign consulates, ORR shelters, etc.) 

 

 

The Impact of Your Results – Will speed the unification process, shorten the time UAC remain in ORR care, provide adequate and effective coordination, mitigate risk for ORR simultaneously while the protection of UAC remains paramount and intact.

  • Proven experience with design and delivery of superior services associated with the implementation and operations/management of the reunification process and its activities in accordance with the mission of the Client 


  • Ability to implement and execute business and management practices involved in strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, quality control, document control, processes, process mapping and leadership 


  • Skilled assessing and advocating suitable recommendations to address UAC needs around placement or safety issues, education, health, mental health, legal/immigration proceedings, substance abuse, independent living criminal/juvenile justice, child enrichment activities etc. 


  • Mature and stable judgment and the ability to handle crisis intervention, conflict, confrontation or other complex people situations with compassion and decisiveness 


  • Aptitude to work cross functionally with TPG Management and Social Services Agencies to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure and in a fast-paced environment 


  • Proven experience and high level of comfortability operating technology and learning new software applications quickly 


  • Ability to develop and comprehend numerical and statistical data analysis


  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality 


  • Experience working with immigration or resettlement programs  


  • Knowledge of state, community, and agency resources for victims of abuse and trafficking  


Key Knowledge: 


  • A Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields OR 


  • A bachelor’s degree plus three (3) years’ employment experience that demonstrates supervisory and case management experience 


  • Supervisory experience overseeing personnel across a range of experience and expertise

The Work Environment – Will be between the home office in Ashburn, VA, and visits w/in the field and/or client site, as necessary. 

 

Work Schedule - Due to the importance of this position, employees supporting this contract can be required to work extended hours to include evening work, on-call, and weekends to support time-sensitive or real-time complex services.  This position is considered ESSENTIAL.  This means the Assistant Program Director - Post Release Services will be required to work during emergency or crisis situations, including inclement weather, natural and man-made disasters, etc. 

 

Physical Demands - To perform the essential functions of the job, qualified candidates must be able to perform the following: reaching, grasping, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, mobility to walk for extended periods of time, run, carry, load and unload luggage.  Position does require the ability to read written documentation from a computer screen throughout the workday, stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time, and drive vehicles, (alert/vigilant of surroundings) for extended periods of time.
