Job Description:

The Instrument, Pricing & Common Reference Data organization is an operating unit center of excellence providing a global asset pricing service to multiple lines of business across J.P. Morgan. Team maintains fixed income and equity asset data in our core Global Security Master Data system. The group is responsible for ensuring asset data quality for front office and back office systems and timeliness of updates to asset data to ensure compliance checks and trades are executed with minimal issues. In addition, the group is responsible for the identification and resolution of escalated issues identified by traders and portfolio managers. Implementing daily controls based on process enhancements, and partnership w/ technology to create a streamlined strategic global data process flow through increased efficiencies and process improvements.

Specific primary responsibilities include but are not limited to,act as an escalation point to ensure accurate and timely resolution of internal client inquiries. Compare data from vendor sources to internal mainframe systems to ensure accuracy and escalate issues with vendor when required. Act as oversight for offshore security setup and pricing functions including the analysis, research, and resolution security setup and pricing issues. The Operations Analyst will be based in Newark, Delaware and report to the Global Team Manager.

Responsibilities:


  • Project analysis, including documenting business requirements, detailing issues and risks, and drafting business processes and data flows
  • Data analysis, including data collection, synthesis, and translation of results into concrete actionable solutions
  • Identify gaps between applicable requirements and current procedures/controls and drive resolution of mitigating controls
  • Work with business partners to design and implement enhancements to existing processes and/or business applications, introduce new processes and/or toolsets, and engage in process re-engineering
  • Develop and implement solutions that strengthen business operating models, enhance the client experience, and improve efficiency and controls
  • Define user acceptance test plans and test cases, coordinate and execute user acceptance testing and interpret, assess, and communicate results to enable signoff on deliverables
  • Provide implementation support, inclusive of testing and process change management, and ensure those implementations meet requirements established by Oversight and Control partners
  • Apply a critical eye in evaluating existing processes and frameworks; challenge the status quo and recommend solutions / enhancements to operating models and controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or equivalent work experience

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite with in depth knowledge of Excel

• Moderate to advanced knowledge of Bloomberg terminals and products

• Knowledge of financial instruments and desire to learn new instruments and financial techniques

• Ability to partner globally across regions, businesses and functions

• Ability to trouble shoot exceptions/issues quickly to avoid market exposure

• Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing business and technology needs

• Ability to use creative thinking to identify solutions for complex processes and/or issues

• 1-3 years asset pricing or fund accounting experience

• Must be able to take ownership of issues and drive them to completion with little or no guidance
