Job Description:

Conduct Officer/Investigator/ is a 12-month position aimed at promoting a learning environment for student success. This is often accomplished through individual meetings and interactions, investigating issues of behavioral misconduct regarding Creighton's Community Standards, the Title IX Sexual Assault policy, and the Discriminatory Harassment policy. This position will also be involved in offering expertise in various policy and behavioral matters. This position will also respond to student mental health crises that occur on campus and help with the navigation of school procedures and processes.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:


  • Master's degree in student affairs, higher education administration or counseling, or related field.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the values and traditions of a Catholic, Jesuit university, and being able to develop students through the guidance of the mission and values of the institution.
  • Title IX Certified Investigator preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, appreciation for, and engagement in topics of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Understanding and demonstrated application of student development theory.
  • Must be organized and able to communicate timely and effectively through written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working on a college campus in a student conduct setting is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:


  • Clearly communicate Creighton University's values and expectations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and sensitivity.
  • Familiarity with federal statutes related to higher education, specifically Campus SaVE, Clery Act, Title IX, FERPA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
  • Ability to take initiative and carry out detailed work under time constraints
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills.

Requires Licenses/Certification:

Requires Title IX Investigator Certification or ability and commitment to obtain certification within one year of hire.
