Position Overview

The individual will work and assist the Manufacturing Engineers in standardization and documentation of processes in the plant.

Essential Job Functions


  • Partner with the engineering team and production employees to standardize procedures and aid in the manufacturing process.

  • Perform actual time studies by timing and/or taking videos of the work being performed on the shop floor and tabulate results into meaningful data to improve processes and line operations

  • Work in conjunction with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to streamline various tasks throughout the day.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills


  • Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and Industrial Technology majors. Other engineering disciplines may be considered.

  • Courses in Mfg. Materials and Processes, and Production and Operations Analysis or related courses would be beneficial

  • Fundamental understanding of Lean and Six Sigma desired.

  • Experience with industry standard CAD systems for design and documentation.

  • Experience using standard test and measurement equipment.

  • Strong PC skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Willingness to work in hands on production environment.

  • Ability to communicate efficiently, analyze inputs, and appropriately act on information provided.

  • Ability to collect and document process data (time studies, quality data, etc.).

  • Ability to handle simultaneous and sometimes challenging tasks.

  • Technical problem solving in a production environment.
