Cardno GS is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Architect who performs in a self-directed manner in all aspects of the building design process specifically in design development and contract documents. This person will play an integral part of our AE design/development process in our Charlottesville, Virginia office.

Job Description:

* Prepare drawings for schematic design and design development.
* Exercise creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials, including design sketches, renderings, models and graphics.
* Prepare contract documents including details, sections, elevations, specifications and schedules.
* Produce amendments, addenda and bulletins.
* Assist in preparing adaptations and technical alternatives for project team review.
* Perform area calculations according to specified standards.

* Code Analysis
* Perform site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements.
* Organize and plan accordingly to execute tasks.
* Self-check work for accuracy, omissions and legibility.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• Professional Degree in Architecture




• Professional Registration (AIA or RA)




• 8+ years' experience




• Experience in all phases and aspects of a project is desirable




• Intermediate knowledge of project design and construction documentation production




• Knowledge of construction materials




• Effective verbal and written communication skills




• Collaborative and professional work ethic




• AutoCAD/Revit familiarity and skills




• MSOffice experience/skill (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
