Overview

The mission of our Resource Management Office (RMO) is to optimize deployment of our workforce by assigning our professionals to roles that satisfy the needs of our external clients, develop our people, and support our strategic business priorities.

The Resource Management Specialist role supports the tactical functions associated with the collection of and maintenance of both resource and project data used to support resource management. This individual works with Line, Project, and Department Managers to execute resource management processes to ensure effective alignment and utilization of our Professional Services resources.

Responsibilities

    Champion and govern the resource management function within Esri Professional Services
  • Facilitate fulfillment of project staffing requests, prioritizing resource requests, working with Project Managers, Line Managers, and other team members to ensure resource requirements are fulfilled with the appropriate individuals within the necessary timeframe.

  • Flag resource allocation conflicts needing resolution, escalating as required

  • Support workload balancing, prioritization, resource scheduling, and integration of resources into multiple projects in order to maintain optimal utilization of resources

  • Support/drive Resource Staffing & Interlock status meetings for supported departments -- prepare and distribute materials as needed, and capture all follow up actions and notes

  • Assist in the creation of regular and ad hoc reports, and resource data analysis as required

  • Analyze data from various reports on resource demand vs. availability, staff over allocations, skill gaps, etc.

  • Work with Department/Practice Management, and RMO Manager to identify skill gaps and requirements to drive internal staff training and development

  • Work with Department/Practice Management, and RMO Manager on planning and executing candidate sourcing, whether through third party partners, or through recruiting new hires

  • Review and recommend modifications to internal processes as needed for project control, operations review and Professional Services support

  • Conduct research to identify alternate staffing solutions and/or, alternate processes for improvement

  • Support PSA skill data reviews, maintenance, and process updates

Requirements


  • 2+ years of work experience in resource management, project management, or related field is preferred

  • Exceptional communication, influencing and analytical skills

  • Strong oral presentation, listening and influencing skills

  • Proven collaboration skills

  • Familiarity with resource automation systems and software

  • Skilled in use of spreadsheet tools e.g. Excel

  • Familiarity with forecasting processes and tools

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or a related field (Master's preferred)
