Job Description:

Join our REMARKABLE Healthcare team as an Ophthalmic Assistant. 

We are currently seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to:


  • Perform visual testing in both preventative and specialty eye care

  • Provide a safe and comforting atmosphere for eye care patients of all ages

  • Work in a fast-paced team environment

Education:

Minimum - High School Degree or equivalent

Preferred - Completed an accredited Ophthalmic/Optometric program, Certified Medical Assistant program or Licensed Practical Nurse program

Work Experience:

Minimum - One (1) year of clinical health care experience, if has not completed an educational program

Preferred - One (1) year experience as a Certificated Ophthalmic/Optometric Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum - 


  • Within 18 months of hire will achieve one of the following certifications: COA, CPOT, CPOA

  • CPR certification

Preferred - Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA, CPOT, CPOA)


  • If LPN, Wisconsin Practical Nurse licensure

  • If MA, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Good customer service skills

  • Ability to function as a team member

  • Knowledge of Ophthalmic procedures

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule100% FTE, 40 hours per week. Scheduled shifts are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.  Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Sign-On Bonus: This position is eligible for up to a $2,000 sign-on bonus (pro-rated on FTE/Hours).
