Job Description:
The SAP Application Architect is responsible for designing and architecting end-to-end solutions and systems within our global SAP systems, working across a variety of business areas, including finance, business operations, product development, corporate IT, and various reporting groups. The SAP Application Architect will manage the entire lifecycle of an SAP ecosystem and has big picture ownership of technologies comprising the SAP investment at Epiq.
Job Responsibilities
Direct management oversight of the functional SAP focused personnel on team.
Work in close partnership with the SAP Application Services and Support Manager across all work in the organization.
Work with senior stakeholders and business teams to understand needs and priorities. Set and influence SAP strategic direction at Epiq.
Provide direct technical leadership as a subject matter expert on high-profile projects.
Owns and documents practical and sustainable end-to-end SAP architecture designs within and beyond SAP, drawing on existing SAP standards and best practices. Develop a capability/application road map from current to future state.
Engage with key projects, assuring and verifying that the technology approach and designs are suitable. Provide direct technical leadership to project team members and 3rd parties when required.
Work with IT and technology colleagues, to understand our current global SAP architecture, infrastructure, principles, and solutions
Analyzes the current SAP architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvement such as enhancing business processes, expanding capacity, reducing time & cost, and increasing overall effectiveness
Participate in resolving technology integration problems.
Analyzes technology industry, market trends and impact of SaaS/Cloud and determines the potential impact on the enterprise. Maintains relationship with SAP ecosystem vendors and maintains vendor roadmaps. Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards.
Job Requirements / Qualifications and Skills
Demonstrated capability to analyze business processes, functional and technical requirements and deliver effective and efficient business process improvements.
4 to 6 years of experience in SAP where the candidate influences or drives effective end to end designs within SAP ERP.
An additional 4 to 6 years’ of experience in SAP in some fashion such as an SAP functional SME, configurator, or SAP/ABAP developer.
Cross functional experience with SAP modules is required. Demonstrate capability to perform cross functional support role.
Hands on experience with one or more of the following:
ABAP, NetWeaver, Fiori application development
S/4 Hana development
SAP application development technologies including call transactions, the various User Exits techniques, LSMW.
SAP integration techniques including IDocs, BAPIs, various APIs (at rest, JSON), connectors, middleware integration.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Independent with high initiative.
Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
Strong understanding over high level business processes or functions such as
contract to cash/order to cash – customer billing
procure to pay – vendor payments, purchase orders, etc.
hire to retire – HRIS functions, SAP employee master
professional service time entry – Cross Application Time Sheet/CATS
Financial Planning & Analysis – ERP functions that support management reporting & business analytics
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced business environment.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities is a must.
Position requires a college degree, preferably a B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience in finance or system engineering.
Experience in ERP and business process improvement consulting, administration and operational control for support and maintenance and implementation projects.
Must have supported ERP operating environments.
Experience with multiple full life-cycle implementations of SAP.
