THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN PLEASANT GROVE. 

POSITION SUMMARY

Repairs and overhauls new and used backhoe, compaction, and pavers equipment and/or company owned equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read job order and observes, listens, and diagnoses all types of Caterpillar machines.


• Perform general shop repairs on equipment.


• Keep records of service reports and work orders.


• Disassemble unit and inspects parts for wear.


• Repair or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.


• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain components and repair.


• Rebuild parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks.


• Repair ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels.


• Reline and adjust brakes and repair leaks in radiator.


• Repair and adjust headlights and install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers.


• Follow all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Safety (SB198), and shop procedures.


• Other duties as assigned.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
