We are seeking a Program Specialist for a full-time contract opportunity with FM Talent Source for one of our valued clients. This will be based in San Francisco, CA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assess a program's effectiveness and provide ongoing dialogue and assistance to the grantee.

  • Conduct, at a minimum, monthly grantee contacts to assess grantee needs and performance.

  • Assist federal staff in their interactions with grantees and in some cases be the primary contact with the grantee in consultation with the COR.

  • Complete review, analysis, and administrative activities related to the OHS grant funding application and award process including comprehensive programmatic and cost review of funding applications, completion of follow-up contact with grantees and/or applicants to obtain required information and completion of all administrative activities related to the grant awards process for assigned grantee caseload.

  • Provide support services related to the programmatic administration of Head Start and Early Head Start grants. This task includes activities related to supporting the OHS goals and objectives to improve accountability, school readiness, and program performance for Head Start grants and provide effective guidance, technical assistance, and direction to grantees in implementing Head Start programs.

  • Provide support on tasks related to the Designation Renewal System (DRS) and replacement grantee process in the Regional Office.

  • Participate, at the request of the COR, as Panel Monitors in support of competitive grant application reviews through new competitive funding, the DRS, or grantee-replacement process.

STAFF QUALIFICATIONS


  • A minimum of a BA or BS Degree, with a preference for a Master’s degree, in a field related to behavioral or social science, early childhood education, or public administration from an accredited university or college

  • At least one year of specialized experience providing guidance and technical assistance to state, local, or federally funded early childhood education, social or behavioral science programs

  • A minimum of three years of performing programmatic oversight of state, local, or federally funded early childhood education, social or behavioral science programs

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the administration of discretionary grants is preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to review, aggregate, and present data gathered from multiple sources

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and produce high quality written products such as memoranda, presentations, and correspondence

Salary: $82,750.00
