This role is responsible for the deployment and support of Manufacturing Execution Systems and related shop floor systems. Working closely with regional leadership, IT staff and cross-functional site resources, this role is responsible for helping to develop the initial business case, funding proposal and staffing requirements for site or product specific MES launches, regional MES/shop/floor deployments and upgrades, as well as long-term production support once projects are delivered. This role leads a team of MES specialists and analysts who manage and support individual projects and manufacturing operations within the responsible locations.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Works with the business representatives who specify the standard system template for how MES and shop floor systems are designed, installed and operated across the global Yanfeng organization


• Leads, mentors, and coordinates the activities of a dedicated team of IT experts and analysts who design, deploy and support MES and shop floor IT solutions, within the globally specified standard


• Gathers requirements and rationalizes the business case for proposed MES and shop floor IT solutions that support manufacturing operations


• Owns vendor relationships to quote, deploy and support MES and shop floor installations


• Provides an escalation point for project issues and operations support related to MES and shop floor systems


• Education Requirements:


• A university degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) is required or compelling demonstrable equivalent experience.  An advanced technical degree or applicable graduate degree (MBA) is highly desirable.

Required Skills:

• Deep understanding of shop floor processes in an automotive supplier JIT/S (Just In Time/Sequencing) environment


• Subject matter expert on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and their interaction with PLC based machine equipment


• General understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management) and ERP systems as they pertain to MES


• Should have experience in launching MES systems as part of vehicle launches specifically with FCA (Stellantis)


• Ability to Project Manage MES launches with focus on tracking timing, cost, quality, as well as providing updates to customers – both internal & external


• Translation of business requirements from value stream maps and traceability specifications to configuration and development of MES solution


• Experience working with cross functional teams across different cultures


• Past/present skills in coding MES using C# and SQL script

• Ability to communicate in Mandarin


• Past experience of working for an Automotive Interiors manufacturer in a JIT/S environment


• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure


• Past experience in developing MES software
