thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas is currently seeking an experienced Test Tower Supervisor - Innovation and Qualification Center in Atlanta, GA.
Supervise Test Tower activities at the Innovation and Qualification Center. Work with development engineers, field teams, and test and qualification engineers on the development of elevator components, assemblies and systems. Ensure safety policies and procedures are being followed by all employees and facility guests. Oversee the installation and testing of elevators, elevator subsystems, components and mockups. Position includes general lab oversight, leading tests, component fabrication, and assembly of test fixtures.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Provide guidance to development teams and test tower technicians for how to safely and properly perform tests for elevators and elevators components
Perform elevator installations and tests alongside
Oversee various testing activities within the test facility, labs and machine shop
Supervises the technicians within the Test and Qualification group
Maintain Test Tower schedule and communicate status and conflicts to leadership
Conduct tours for various stakeholder groups including senior leadership and external customers
Clearly communicate test status, conclusions, and proposed next steps to development teams and the test and qualification group
Assess, plan and produce test fixtures
Provide training for newer employees and techs on products and processes
Lead others to create and implement safety protocols
Adhere to all company safety procedures and standards
Lead the mechanic and test and qualification team to maintain top 6S standards
Adhere to corporate compliance policy, including performing all duties in a professional and responsible manner
Complete work in a timely and efficient manner
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
What we look for
Two years of college, technical institute courses or equivalent work experience is desirable
8+ years of related experience is preferred; comprehension of general mechanical, electrical, and software engineering and testing concepts is required
Must have elevator experience
Must possess excellent customer service skills
Must be able to work well with others
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required
Experience using computer-assisted design software is required
Experience with hands on use of mechanical fabrication equipment (i.e. shop tools, hoists, band saw, grinder, lathe, mill) is required
Experience with use of mechanical test equipment (i.e. pressure gauges, torque wrench, load cell, hydraulics,) is required
Experience with hands-on use of electrical test equipment is required
Experience with packaging material for shipment, loading/unloading trucks, and use of a forklift is required
Experience with welding equipment is required
