Works in close partnership with US DxI Leadership, Finance, Project Management and Resourcing teams to strategically oversee and manage growth, scale, intake, and talent for US DxI.
This centralized role lies at the intersection between Operations, PM, HR, Recruitment, Finance, and Account/Client Services. The person occupying this senior position is primarily responsible for overseeing the strategic vision and high-level operations for DxI resourcing in the US, guiding and informing process, intake priorities (organic and new business), talent casting and operational excellence in line with broader agency objectives.
This role reports into the US Head of DxI, in partnership with the Head of Resource Management.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership:
Operationalizes the DxI business and capability strategies into appropriate, scalable Resource Management processes
Consistently exerts influence with colleagues and leadership to enable cross-capability and/or US decisions regarding organizational structure and processes
Has multiple interaction styles; uses them appropriately and adapts as situations arise
Leverages strong negotiation skills to obtain agreement from client leads and/or capability; communicates decisions to all parties including senior leadership
Demonstrates exceptional listening skills to anticipate and convey client and team needs, opportunities and risks
Displays a high degree of integrity, and is respected by internal clients/teams/peers
Identifies high-level challenges and guides solutions to address and resolve through effective, sustainable actions
Drives professional, impactful, verbal and written standards and conduct in relation to resourcing offering
Proactively makes sound recommendations that serve both people and business
Accountable for proactively building and sharing the agency best practices
Business Acumen:
Possesses a deep expertise in DxI capabilities, Edelman infrastructure and values
Provides strategic direction to materially enhance existing processes, as well as recommendations for new solutions
Leverages financial data to provide counsel to capability leadership on level and skills of staff required to deliver on current and future business
Champions the consistent and effective use of standardized tools, including PSA, supporting the roll-out and long term usage by the organization at large
Informs and oversees capability financials, utilization and profitability (not responsible for outcomes but accountable for guiding the business and decisions to help course-correct and/or drive success)
Demonstrates strong fiscal management, understanding the economics of our business and contributing in a way that supports the financial model
Demonstrates ability to see beyond explicit assignment and to identify broader, longer term opportunities for the capability and its place within the the agency business model
Strong corporate citizen; supports all the agency policies (Timesheets, Reviews, Expenses, etc.) and participates regularly in corporate sponsored events
Management:
Hires and manages DxI resourcing team, guiding growth and culture of team and offering in alignment with broader agency vision and priorities
Actively participates in other capabilities' review/feedback processes
Actively manages direct reports, providing real-time and long-term coaching to drive behavioral changes and career growth; consistently models ethical behavior and agency values for all staff levels
Provides employee relations expertise within the capability, working in tandem with HR to manage complex and high level dynamics and performance
Integration:
Partners with Capability Leads to drive planning and decisions (e.g., fit for purpose talent casting; resource sharing; etc); focusing on driving growth, work quality and strengthening offering
Establishes strong and trusted partnerships with direct reports, peers and internal stakeholders, gaining recognition by the most senior internal clients as an invaluable advisor
Establishes strategic relationships with core discipline leads and stakeholders to align on vision and priorities, engender trust and empathy, and build collaborate partnerships across capabilities
Counsels and escalates systemic challenges or issues as necessary
Talent Acquisition/Growth:
Possesses a strong command of people, process and tools: Reviews, calibration, promotion, rotation, short/long term transfer, freelance and recruiting acting as a fair and objective assessor of individuals and a voice of consistency. Strong partner to HR team.
Advises on all critical talent and high-level resourcing decisions and hires within capability
Expert knowledge of skills/people and/or capability, and strong understanding of agency portfolio of skills
Supports local resourcing team with navigating and evaluating options when there's no obvious solution
Informs prioritization of recruiting needs and decisions, working in partnership with local resourcing team, Leadership, Client Leads and Recruitment
