We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Associate Scientist with a strong background in high-throughput in vitro screening to join our dynamic, fast-paced and interdisciplinary lead development team. Our mission is to advance novel RNAi therapeutic programs from target discovery through lead candidate selection. The successful candidate will be technically skilled in biochemistry or cell biology, and bring a rigorous, analytical approach to research.

Summary of Key Responsibilities


  • The candidate will perform high-throughput screening of siRNAs using qPCR and a variety of cell-based assays.
  • Design and execute in vitro screens and assays to characterize novel siRNA modifications that impact activity or uptake.
  • Perform biochemical assays such as ELISA and activity assays to characterize siRNA targets and biomarkers.
  • Develop and conduct assays that support in vivo studies (e.g. qPCR, ELISA) for the quantitative analysis of biomarkers or siRNA activity
  • Communicate data with key stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Prepare clearly articulated experimental reports and data presentations for a variety of audiences within and outside Research
  • Ability to multitask and successfully interact with a diverse team of scientists to deliver quality data and results.
  • The ideal candidate will be motivated and scientifically driven to support high-throughput screening efforts.

Qualifications


  • A BS in a biological science with at least 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience in cell or molecular biology are required
  • Experience in tissue culture and purification/quantification of nucleic acids/protein, including qPCR and ELISA
  • Experience with biomarker assay development and assay optimization
  • Experienced with laboratory automation including liquid handling systems such as Perkin Elmer JANUS or other systems.
  • The candidate must thrive in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills (both written and oral). The role requires strong interpersonal skills, the capacity to multi-task, and the ability to function across teams. We particularly seek someone who is detail oriented and who will flourish in a goal-driven team environment under tight deadlines.
