Medline IS Department has an opening for an IT Applications Manager. This position will primarily focus on managing our Managed Care technology platform and team. The Manager is responsible for people management, solution delivery, Managed Care system operations and process improvement initiatives. He/she will work with the business, functional, and technical teams to deliver solutions to meet business objectives.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.

Build and manage an application team to deliver best in class technology platform for the Medline managed care business

2.

Make technology decisions related to the managed care systems environment, establish guiding principles and ensure the architecture validity to support business functions and future growth

3.

Work with internal business users and sponsors to continually refine Medline's managed care business roadmap as well as provide a world class platform for realizing this roadmap

4.

Create an agile work environment to deliver programs while balancing time, cost and scope and support robust change and configuration management practices

5.

Research and recommend investment, development, installation, and use of technology improvements

6.

Mentor and develop team members to enable personal and professional development

7.

Responsible for personnel management including recruiting, hiring, firing, performance coaching and reviews, corrective action, career development, resource scheduling (vacation, support schedule), etc.

8.

Assess and address team skill and knowledge gaps

9.

Collaborate with architecture team in devising the best architecture and designs including an emphasis on 24x7 availability

10.

Collaborate with project managers and shared services team to develop and manage resource plans

11.

Provide guidance to team members in data sensitivity and process control to determine IT security impact of team efforts.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related, or equivalent work related experience

Relevant Work Experience

10 years working in IT delivering applications and solutions to business users

2 years successfully leading development teams

Additional

Proven success in performing requirements elicitation, process definition, and solution execution

Solid understanding of agile application development practices

Strong prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills

Able to guide and influence both business users and technical users.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work with a broad group of senior leaders throughout the organization

Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

Understanding of financial and revenue model a plus

Claims processing and payment systems experience a plus
