Warehouse Operator

Warehouse Personnel are responsible for receiving ingredients and shipping finished products in accordance with established warehousing and receiving, quality, accounting, and security procedures.  Warehouse Personnel are also responsible for the GMP’s and sanitation requirements for the receiving / warehousing area.

Hours: 

  • Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Wage:

  • $21.98/Hr.

EDUCATION: 

  • High School Diploma or GED

Minimum Qualifications: 


  • 18 years or older 


  • Able to trouble shoot mechanical problems


  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment


  • Work in cold and/or hot temperatures throughout the day


  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)  


  • Self-reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision 


  • Ensures a safe working environment while performing assigned tasks


  • Customer focused and able to work in a collaborative team  


  • Ability to be flexible in work performed and schedule


  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and possess basic mathematical skills


  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.


  • Must have Class A Commercial Drivers Licenses


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Forklift certification is desired


  • Must be able to learn the operation of the process computers.  This is needed for receiving bulk ingredients and CIP of receiving lines and whey silos.


  • Must be able to operate a forklift, maintaining compliance with established forklift safety standards.


  • Must be able to learn to operate the Yard Dog.


  • Must be able to operate the computerized warehousing system (DSI).


  • Must be able to do mathematical calculations. 


Primary Function:


  • Receive ingredients and supplies according to warehousing procedures.


  • Ship finished product to WOW and Customers according to warehousing procedures.


  • Maintain shipping and receiving paperwork along with accurate electronic records.


  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the warehousing area.


Secondary Function:


  • Coordinate ingredient and supply movement into the dryer building to facilitate efficiencies for Production Personnel.


  • Must be able to safely operate the yard dog to move trailers in and out of the loading docks.


  • Assist and coordinate work activities with co-workers to achieve an efficient operation.


  • Perform Cycle Counts as necessary to satisfy company requirements.


  • Warehousing Personnel will relieve time off taken by Liquid Receiver.


  • Report low inventory levels of general warehousing supplies to assure reordering is done.


  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.


Safety Responsibility:


  • Use proper lifting techniques when handling bags or other items.


  • Follow plant safety rules and procedures.


  • Must be proficient with operating a forklift and follow safety procedures.


  • Individual is required to perform all duties safely and to use discretion to prevent injuries.


          

Physical Responsibility:


  • Must be able to handle up to 55 pound items in the warehouse. 


  • This will require: Bending, twisting, stooping, turning, and lifting overhead when restacking 50 pound bags.


  • Pushing and pulling when taking bags from a pallet.


  • Must be able to climb onto tanker trucks when relieving in the liquid receiving area.


Interpersonal / Organizational Responsibilities:


  • Must be able to follow written methods, paying close attention to details.


  • Must be able to follow specific work direction and adjust as necessary to accomplish the job.


  • Must be able to maintain legible & accurate records/paperwork as required.


  • Must have communication skills to properly discuss issues with Truck Drivers and Co-workers.  Must also project a positive image to internal and external customers as this reflects directly on our company image.


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.

At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
