JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring the Bank’s network environment and deployed systems are operating in a secure state as defined by industry best practices, Bank standards, and regulatory requirements.  Assist with incident response, escalates suspected or confirmed incidents/issues, implements procedures and manages technical resources.  Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, as well as all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations wherein the company operates. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Ensure the Bank’s Vulnerability Management and Secure Configuration Programs are operating effectively.    

  2. Assist with creation and implementation of standards and procedures in support of security operations and controls.  

  3. Responds timely to security events, escalate suspected or confirmed incidents/issues appropriately. 

  4. Develop and manage project and other commitment plans to ensure timely completion.  Prepare and deliver update reports as needed.   

  5. Identify and understand gaps in security countermeasures and other operational challenges, research and recommend appropriate solutions.

  6. Provides support on information security projects of the company, including resources and facilities, products and services, and policies and procedures.

  7. Responsible for the security and stability of the company’s information technology resources; participates in leading the company’s incident response team in the event of a technology emergency or breach in confidential information.

  8. Plays a positive role in the development and growth of assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross- trained staff.

  9. Promote awareness of applicable regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and current threats as needed.   

  10. Stay informed of advisories, alerts, and vulnerabilities pertaining to the Bank’s environment and deployed systems. 

  11. Maintain a high level of personal integrity, particularly as it applies to the handling of confidential matters and information.  

  12. Ensure deployed systems are properly documented to facilitate administration, including in Disaster Recovery and troubleshooting scenarios, without dependence on any one technician.

  13. Follow company and department policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:


  • In depth technical knowledge of network, infrastructure, and security systems. 

  • Experience deploying and maintaining IPS/IDS, SIEM and DLP systems.

  • Familiarity with FFIEC, NIST & SOX guidelines & requirements.

  • Effective organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.  

  • Available for after hours and weekend work as needed.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES:


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.

  • Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP), or comparable industry certification.  

  • 8-10 years of experience in Information Technology with a minimum of 3 in Security Operations
