The Role

The Sr. Manager, eCommerce is responsible for the delivery of eCommerce revenue targets and establishing the .com experience as the pinnacle expression of the brand. This position will be accountable for the development and cross-functional alignment of the seasonal eCommerce Go-to-Market plan (in collaboration with brand marketing, planning, merchandising, acquisition, retention, user experience, and technology teams) while also supporting a team through in-season implementation to ensure results. This GTM plan aligns eCommerce commercial plans with brand marketing initiatives to cultivate revenue by incorporating key product and marketing moments, promotional plan, technology/UX enhancements, and segmentation + personalization onsite plan.

This Sr. eCommerce Manager will lead a team comprised of in-season trading, content development, site optimization, and data analysis roles. This team is the primary owner of the website sales funnel from entry to cart and is an experienced professional in catalyzing conversion and optimizing the consumer journey onsite. Success will require cross-functional alignment and unification in strategy across all areas of the business from technology, digital marketing, planning + buying, to brand teams.  

This position serves as primary liaison and point of contact to all stakeholders for matters of the website and is held accountable to KPI’s and sales plans. They are also expected to develop and lead onsite segmentation and personalization strategies to produce an optimal consumer experience and facilitate business initiatives.

The Sr. eCommerce Manager supports impactful business relationships using a global and inspiring approach and is sought out by business partners as a source of valued digital direction.

Your Impact
 

The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

1. Team Leadership:


  • Lead a team of eCommerce managers, site merchandisers, content developers, UX design, and eCommerce analyst

  • Lead across the matrix through influence and partnership; instill and reinforce the highest standards for collaboration and teamwork within eCommerce and within cross-functional partners

  • Stakeholder and key contributor to eCommerce Leadership team

  • Foster and embed Deckers values and culture; model and build an inclusive workplace

  • Champion best practices to improve diversity, inclusion and belonging at Deckers

  • Develop, motivate, mentor and retain top talent, ensuring clear objectives, continuous feedback, and development plans

2. eCommerce Management:


  • Responsible for clear organizational focus on meeting and exceeding the expectations of the brands and DTC team while maintaining a consumer-first lens

  • Set and share team KPI’s and hold teams accountable to achieving these goals throughout the year.

  • Accountable for the development and successful implementation of seasonal GTM plans

  • Facilitate pre-season GTM meetings and planning milestones with all brand, eComm, and other stakeholders

  • Create branded vision for digital business, shared amongst all stakeholders; This vision will guide the overall direction and scope of work completed by the Sr. eCommerce Manager’s team

  • Incorporate brand-defined consumer targets into eCommerce business strategies and GTM planning

  • Manages the development, documentation, and visual communication of consumer journey’s onsite; leverages these plans to drive GTM plans, personalization + segmentation strategies, and overall site optimization

  • Contribute to A/B testing efforts and personalization / segmentation tests; report and share findings regularly with stakeholders and leadership

  • Owns and manages long-term strategy and projects for the site (including the definition of associated milestones and timelines)

  • Leads cross-functional valuing meetings quarterly to align all stakeholders on establishing priority of site enhancements for upcoming quarters and seasons

  • Propose site enhancements via business case submission to remain competitive in the marketplace and drive revenue; these business cases will be valued at quarterly valuing meetings

3. Go-To-Market (GTM) Development:


  • Creates and presents seasonal GTM plans in collaboration with brand, eCommerce, and merchant partners

  • Work with agile team to build GTM epics as needed, prioritizing tasks and milestone deliverables accordingly

  • Stay up to speed on Commerce Cloud platform capabilities pertaining to GTM to drive GTM performance

  • Drive improvements to all KPI’s and enhanced customer journey via A/B testing on GTM related items, with the goal of improving ATV, UPT, and conversion rate

  • Cultivate customer segmentation and personalization efforts pertaining to GTM execution

  • Act as stakeholder on select site enhancement projects as subject expert matter where relevant

  • User Acceptance Test (UAT) all GTM experiences/tasks completed by product team

4. GTM Performance:


  • Responsible for the overall performance of GTM plans/experiences including: sales, spend, and usability/customer engagement

    • Sales goals are based upon the annual eCommerce budget for the brand’s performance

    • Spend is defined as managing the costs of all assets required for site usability and presentation that directly impact eCommerce such as internal labor, external agencies, technology, etc

    • Usability is quantified through customer interaction data and marketing analytics



  • Identifies, evaluates, tests, recommends, and implements changes to plans based on the above trending data

  • Leverage data analysis to identify areas of opportunity; build and execute a supporting strategy for future seasons

5. Reporting:


  • Leads the weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, calling out wins, learnings, actionable insights, risk and mitigation plans

  • Leads creation of a seasonal go to market deck, shared among cross-functional teams and regions

  • Provides post-mortem and retrospective reporting on all key GTM related experiences and site enhancement performances

  • Communicates GTM changes and updates to stakeholders as needed

  • Provide activation-specific reporting to gauge success of experiences/activations based on initial strategy/goals; ensure learnings drive comp experiences the following year

  • Run lessons learned meetings breaking down the above with key stakeholders

  • Bachelors Degree in related field preferred

  • 2-4 years experience in related field

  • Experience with project management/resource allocation, client relations, managing cross functional teams required.

  • Online experience and knowledge of web design, site functionality, and /or digital marketing and experience in a branded product environment required.

  • Experience working with various project management tools and communications tools preferred

  • Familiarity/experience with agile work environments and scrum processes a plus

  • Intermediate working knowledge of project management systems

  • Ability to allocate resources, measure productivity, and identify issues in advance

  • Leadership/management skills to manage and build a team

  • Estimating and reporting abilities

  • Consumer-focused mindset

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to travel on a regular basis to maintain team relationships
