Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure Service Center, located in Columbia Heights, MN, is looking for a Technician III. The person hired for this role will be responsible for the analysis and repair of Medtronic built external devices, in the Service Center, to GMP and ISO requirements. This individual will perform assigned tasks & routine duties using standard practices and work instructions in the area under limited supervision. Technician will use electronic training and knowledge of repair techniques, using standard test equipment and hand tools. Position requires considerable level of knowledge and judgment in determining work methods, performing tasks / tests and recording data.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Perform test and repair using the instrument manual and appropriate work instruction.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair instrument device on a routine basis.
• Document analysis, repair, and parts utilized to satisfy traceability and regulatory requirements
• May have full responsibilities for minor projects
• Use and recommend revision of maintenance manuals and work instructions as necessary.
• Work overtime when necessary to support high priority requests or meet metric goals.
• Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
• Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
• Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
• Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

Qualifications - External

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
• High School Diploma

Nice to Have

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Proficient in SAP
• Basic Electronic theory & troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrated hands-on capabilities
• Experience in a regulated environment
• People skills to understand cultural differences, adapt quickly, and collaborate effectively
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements : Lift 35 lbs. to a work bench under ideal conditions (NIOSH). Stand for 50% of day.
