The Global Data and Analytics team’s mission is to insert an algorithm into every decision, process and product of Kimberly-Clark. As part of this team, the Data Strategy, Planning & Operations role provides strategic direction for the team’s financial management, portfolio/program management and strategy enablement. Oversees the budgeting and long-range planning expense budget and capital spend. This role requires global IT experience in multiple areas including leadership, procurement, project management, budget and finance.

Scope/Categories:

Role will report to the Global Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Key Interfaces:  As interactions will be NA and Global in nature; core working hours of operations will need to be established by the individual. Travel may include approximately 5-10% of work time. Internal: IT Functional Leadership Team, Other IT Organizations, Finance Organization, Human Resources Organization, Other Planning and Operations Leads External: Senior leadership of K-C stakeholder organizations

Key Accountabilities: 


  • Perform portfolio management activities, consolidating and recommending project priorities, and driving project through-put


  • Assist in maintaining a dashboard of all the key aligned activities between the business and IT and helping keep the status up to date for review with business and IT leadership


  • Oversee preparation and control of IT budgets for the Global Data and Analytics Team


  • Partner with the IT functional leadership team to drive business value and higher levels of team performance through organizational team management (hiring process, job descriptions)


  • Engage with Strategy, Technology & Architecture team to develop and maintain IT Business Plan the CDO.


  • Act as liaison / coordination point for deployment of Corporate IT programs within the L4 organization (e.g., CI/LEAN, Talent Building)


  • Identify and implement process improvements to deliver process efficiency, improve execution, reduce costs and increase customer satisfaction via CI/LEAN methods and technology enabled solutions.


  • Define goal management and tracking (i.e. metrics, reporting, performance analysis)


  • Efficiently implement key corporate initiatives by leveraging existing resources and assets as well as coordinate ad-hoc requests and project assignments


  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate Global Data and Analytics leadership meetings, Town Hall meetings and other events including establishing operating rhythms, working with administrative support staff on scheduling, setting agendas, and driving appropriate follow-up


  • Partners with the Finance organization to align budgets, investments, and support with corporate-assigned targets; ensure that forecasting and reporting is appropriate and accurate.


  • Sets, negotiates, agrees and manages all financial budgets and targets, ensuring that there is adequate funding for all IT targets and plans, especially to meet development and capacity needs.


  • Provides functional leadership to the team responsible for the CDO budget and operations.


Required Qualifications and Experiences:


  • Bachelor's degree; 5-7 years of Professional experience with a minimum of 7 years of Information Technology experience.


  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and project management skills, including an ability to communicate effectively at an executive level


  • Held prior accountabilities that required influencing leaders across the globe outside of administrative authority.


  • Ability to prioritize and manage work and trade-offs against critical timelines in a fast-paced environment


  • Builds a strong internal and external network of personal relationships to identify issues and opportunities and provides positive, best-in-class perspectives to others (e.g., executive team)


  • (Preferred) History of proactive stakeholder management and engagement; Cultivates networking opportunities with peer organization


  • Budget ownership and acumen. Setting strategy for overall budgetary control of ITS services and resources.


  • Experience and knowledge developing strategic planning, leadership, and organization delivery across a Global Enterprise.


  • Proven project management and leadership skills, and a good knowledge of how to make and sustain a business case.


  • Ability to work independently with little supervision


  • (Standard) Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance (remote), cultures and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines, and may extend outside the K-C organization including suppliers, partners and customers.


  • Verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory.
