Affigent, an Akima company, is a small business that has been serving the federal IT market since 2003. Affigent specializes in developing customized solutions to address federal civilian and Department of Defense agencies’ individual IT needs, improving their efficiency and productivity to make their missions successful and bolster their returns on investments.

  

Summary

In this role, you will proactively engage with Federal Government personnel, targeting Civilian end clients for the purpose of identifying, qualifying and closing sales opportunities of Affigent’s product and service offerings. The candidate will leverage his/her proven experience and relationships in solution-sales to the federal government via a consultative sales approach and be responsible for all sales activities in assigned targeted accounts. The candidate will work closely with an Account Manager and develop a cohesive plan in order to grow the business in their assigned territory. The candidate must be a subject matter expert in their assigned agencies and understand the agencies’ missions, budgets, priorities and programs in order to provide the customer with the right solution.

 The Business Development Executives (BDE) will manage OEM partner relationships in order to drive revenue growth. They are responsible for creating, enabling, and expanding our business growth in partnership with the sales organization. 

Job Duties

Identifying opportunities to sell OEM hardware solutions within the Federal Sector

• Develop a marketing plans to present Affigent’s capabilities both within the OEM and to end customers.

• Working with account managers to advance opportunities from early identification stages to closed business.

• Foster relationships between Affigent sales and the OEM sales team

• Work with each Account executive on their account plans specifically related to this OEM.

• Participate on customer calls as needed to provide OEM domain expertise with respect to technology, and OEM business practice requirements

• Manage OEM product awareness programs as they pertain to demand generation and OEM channel expectations.

• Channel program training… constant updates and regular briefings to help Affigent Sales and other interested parties understand each OEM channel program.


 

 

 

 

 


Required Skills and Experience: 

 


  • BS or BA Degree

  • Minimum of eight  (8) years  selling to the Federal Government.

  • Proven history of meeting/exceeding yearly quota.

  • Working knowledge of FAR regulations and Federal Government procurement processes.

  • General working knowledge of Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to present to “C” level audience.

  • Focused, ambitious self-starter who exhibits attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

  • Eagerness to learn complex enterprise software and hardware solutions to enable successful development of sales opportunities.

  • A team player capable of working within a collaborative environment and making contributions when appropriate

  • A natural leader; ability to leverage sales resources ( internal and external) to accomplish goals.


  • TS Clearance, preferred.
