Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time Truck Loader to work in the Shipping Department at our Shawnee, OK facility. You are the last step in the process before products reach our customers. Material including glass and metal must be organized, staged, and then loaded onto company delivery and common carrier vehicles in a way that ensures the glass will arrive in good condition. This is an overnight position with hours starting at 6 pm Mon. - Thurs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Moving materials including glass from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the material throughout the plant


• Ability to use and understand computerized tracking systems, delivery receipts, and production labels


• Effectively be able to locate products in the facility


• Recognize product defects and notify supervisor immediately of any issues


• Handle products in a manner that will not cause damage to the product or injury to self or others


• Unloading boxes off carts, writing up bills of lading, and loading will-calls


• Loading trucks on level ground and ensuring even load weight distribution and ensure safe delivery to the customer


• Performing proper housekeeping within the department throughout the shift


• Regular and predictable attendance, the ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job

Requirements

• Basic computer familiarity 


• Ability to read and use a tape measure


• Read and perform mathematical calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions, and decimals


• Must be willing to work in other departments, varying start/end times, and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift,  bend, twist, walk, and reach frequently


• Must have the ability to constantly lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. without assistance 


• Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.). Temperatures are elevated in the summer due to heat generated by glass tempering furnaces
