Job Responsibilities
Performs multiple design tasks of a complex nature from conceptual to final design, that includes design layouts of major assemblies, subassemblies and complex detail drawings. Participates in engineering design reviews. Organizes, estimates, schedules and directs the technical work of lower level Designers and Drafters to meet established project schedules. Exercises considerable judgment and initiative in resolving problems and making recommendations.

• Provides technical and professional support to business projects emphasizing new and unreleased products. This includes working with subject matter experts within Lam as well as external resources such as suppliers and consultants
• Takes ownership of assigned tasks with responsibilities of instituting and participating in corrective actions and following through to assure proper release and hand off of solutions to Hardware Engineers, Pilot, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and/or suppliers
• Expert in Design Review process and capable of generating and presenting content in Design Reviews
• Actively participates in project team activities to help team accelerate initial concept design to release while soliciting input on design performance and optimizing.
• Creates and influences designs to be compliant with all DFx categories: x = cost, serviceability, manufacturability & assembly, safety, etc.
• Assist more senior engineers in the analysis of research data and product specifications. Acquires and applies basic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems.
• Conducts and may design experiments and tests pertaining to the development of new methods, processes, hardware, standards, modification of current material components, software, or process specifications and the resolution to complex technical problems.
• Collects data, may analyze results, generate reports, and provide recommendations. Contributes as required, in the design, analysis, prototype build, software or process development, evaluation, and complete bottom up product documentation for pre-production release.
• Clear communication, mentoring, and collaboration with less senior/experienced team members in the US and offshore.
• Attention to detail; passionate about creating accurate 3D models and 2D drawings; getting the design right prior to ordering the first parts
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment where time-to-market is of critical importance

Minimum Qualification

• 10+ years in mechanical/electrical/electromechanical design
• Expert training in CAD modeling using NX software and design/drafting standards
