The Senior Director of Business Development SVS is responsible to identify, evaluate, and implement business growth opportunities for the SVS vertical. The SVS senior director will support and guide internal and external relationships. This role will be responsible for identifying new ACO/IPA opportunities, FQHC and large Urgent Care organizations, Large Medical Groups, Physician Office Laboratories and Hospital Outreach Management opportunities and additional Business Development partnerships as a means to grow revenue. Account Managers, when needed, will be hired to on-board opportunities in conjunction with Senior Director and will report to Senior Director. This position reports to the VP of SVS.
Responsibilities
Collaborates with Clinical and Specialty teams to understand their key growth strategies and objectives, and assist with strategic planning
Stays current with emerging diagnostic technologies and trends by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements, tracking individual companies
Contacts potential partners to explore and screen opportunities for collaboration and partnership
Works with the Sales, Customer Solutions, Marketing, Operations, and Payer Relations to coordinate the RFP/Bid process
Coordinates any necessary due diligence in the areas of compliance, legal, regulatory or operational
Works with finance on quantitative and qualitative analyses to inform business decisions.
Assists in development of financial models, materials, and recommendations for strategic customer relationships
Represents the Company at industry conferences to create leads and identify potential partnership opportunities
Supports ongoing maintenance of relationships with current and future prospects and partners
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of experience in a leadership role managing others
5-10 years of experience in business development, strategic marketing, consulting, healthcare/life sciences investment banking, venture capital is required.
Prior healthcare business development/transactional experience required with diagnostics/life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
Proven track record of developing compelling business cases
Proven experience with a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payers, providers
Knowledge of test sample journey, currently utilized diagnostic technologies preferred
Ability to combine both scientific and commercial knowledge to meet customer needs
Ability to clearly and effectively articulate complex concepts
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills are required.
Politically savvy with strong negotiation, problem solving and project management skills
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must have a clean, valid Driver License and a personal vehicle to use for work on a daily basis
Preferred Qualifications:
B.A. or Clinical Certifications/Training
Diagnostics/life sciences industry experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of test sample journey, currently utilized diagnostic technologies
