Weeks Marine, Inc. (WMI) is looking for a Learning and Development Manager who will assess our organizational learning and professional development strategy, design, and execute programs aligned with our values and organizational goals.  Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, loves to learn, can get things done, and embraces challenges to solve complex problems.


Essential Job Functions



  • Review existing training and development programs; suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the organization.

  • Design and develop comprehensive programs for training, including training aids and materials and ensures that all are current, accurate, and effective. Produce learning materials in a variety of formats, including facilitator guides, eLearning modules, webinars, process diagrams, performance supports, curated content, etc.

  • Identify and assess current and future training and development needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals and consultation with managers.

  • Incorporate instructional design theory and practices into formal and informal training and development initiatives to improve productivity, performance, and enhance employee engagement and retention. Design instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.

  • Partner closely with Business and HR Leaders utilizing a development planning process to create learning opportunities, tailored to the audience, and launch a scalable learning approach.

  • Create and implement evaluation plans to demonstrate business impact of training initiatives. Track and analyze training metrics including employee utilization and participation data.

  • Prepare organizational and departmental training plans, including Business Plan, Scope Documents, Design Documents, budget, etc.

  • Research industry trends, concepts, and techniques for delivering high quality learning and development experiences.

  • Partner with organization to implement LMS and manage data for future needs.

  • Meet state and federal laws, rules, and regulations as it relates to Weeks Marine, Inc.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Exceptional interpersonal and engaging facilitation skills.

  • Ability and interest in project managing and delivering in-house training.

  • Knowledge of employee learning and development technologies and courses. 

  • Passionate about building strong company culture through investing in and developing people.

Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business, or related field required.

  • 5+ years’ experience designing and implementing organizational development programs; 2+ years leading L&D initiatives.

  • Demonstrated international orientation, cultural and D&I awareness.

  • Proven experience establishing networks and building alliances that promote cross-functional collaboration.

Physical Requirements



  • Ability to remain in seated stationary position for long periods of time

  • Ability to navigate around office to use equipment as needed

  • Ability to travel when required

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
