Job Description:
As Recro's Our Next Cloud Native Engineer You Will Cloud Native Engineer work as members of our Professional Services Team and engage with existing and prospective clients.
- Test and deploy cloud native technologies at enterprise scale
- Provide development support for integration with customer environment
- Automate and orchestrate to expand IT services delivered
- Enable adoption and operation of new cloud native technologies for customers
Technical Knowledge
- Container technologies (Docker, Rocket etc.)
- Big data systems (Cassandra, Spark, HBase etc.)
- Messaging queues (e.g. Kafka, 0MQ, RabbitMQ)
- Distributed file systems (e.g. HDFS)
- System administration (major Linux distributions)
- Network architecture (routing, load balancing, firewalls, VLANs)
- Virtualization (VMware, Xen, KVM)
- PaaS technologies (OpenShift, Cloud Foundry etc.)
- Public cloud administration (AWS, Azure, GCE)
- Configuration management and/or scripting experience (Ansible, Puppet, BASH, Perl)
You Will Be Successful In This Role If You
- Are willing to be at customer sites up to 80% of your time
- Can quickly learn new technologies (such as Kubernetes or DC/OS)
- Have a technical background and comfortable working directly with customers
- Have experience gathering and understanding customer business requirements
- Become a customer advocate to drive successful outcomes
- Consistently deliver to project deadlines
Experience
- 5+ years of hands on IT administration/consulting/engineering role
- (preferred) 2+ years Kubernetes administration and deployment experience
