The Accounting and Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of monthly and annual reporting as well as defining and implementing new processes and controls in relation to recent and upcoming system changes. The Accounting and Reporting Manager must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues locally and globally as well as work independently with minimal oversight.
Responsibilities:
Manage and complete month-end close process for US Merz Aesthetics affiliates
Coordinate scheduling amongst wider finance team and parent company to ensure that the monthly and year end close is completed timely and efficiently
Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Perform data uploads of local data to consolidation system and reconcile legal and management data monthly
Perform consolidation procedures for Merz Inc. and subsidiaries on a quarterly basis
Complete monthly KPI reporting required for parent company
Streamline Processes and Controls
Define and implement processes and controls for accounting and reporting based on newly upgraded SAP system with goal of reducing month-end close timeline
Manage upcoming upgrade of global consolidation system for US Merz Aesthetics affiliates
Define and implement efficient processes and controls around global consolidation system to provide data transparency between local SAP data and consolidated data
Revenue Recognition and Gross to Net Calculations
Support in the preparation and review of monthly accrual calculations (returns, rebates, coupons, etc.)
Perform in-depth review of accrual and revenue recognition methodology to determine necessary changes as needed
Collaborate with Contract Operations and other business colleagues to ensure that all sales contracts and promotions are accounted for properly
Ensure that proper documentation of contract analyses and accounting determination is maintained
Support in the calculation and review of gross to net percentages to be used for daily sales and budget purposes
Work with FP&A team to communicate any changes in revenue recognition and gross to net percentages for budget updates
Support in creation of updated sales reports for Finance and the business
Complete Reporting Requirements
Analyses required by parent company, including but not limited to yearly Balance Sheet Reviews
Annual IFRS reporting pack for US Merz Aesthetics Affiliates
Further tasks, including but not limited to:
Provide support to Senior Manager, Corporate Tax with income tax and transfer pricing calculations as well as projects including system upgrade and process improvements
Collaborate with local finance and parent company to ensure that accounting treatments are proper and in line with Group Reporting Manual and current IFRS standards
Manage audit of US Merz Aesthetics affiliates. Ensure audit requirements are complete and met in a timely manner.
Manage and complete other financial projects as assigned
Requirements:
4 year Accounting degree
CPA License
5 years related Accounting and Reporting experience
2-3 years of Public accounting experience with a regional or national accounting firm
Ability to read and comprehend accounting literature including IFRS standards and interpretations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to define and solve problems
Organized and attentive to details
Proficient in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
