If you are an Oracle ERP Instance professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our St. Louis, MO or Sidney, OH locations, you will have overall responsibility for the operations of the Group Oracle Instance(s) including but not limited to instance roadmap, patching strategy, change control, and technical support. Plans activity and is responsible for the mainstream environment and developing and following appropriate change control and audit procedures. He/she will work with the business unit project and application support teams, instance coordinators, and Corporate IT resources to resolve technical issues and provide support on Instance related technical requests. He/she will work closely with the Commercial and Residential Group IT team members and Corporate IT Technical Services Manager to achieve the appropriate business goals and support the company objectives.

 AS AN ORACLE ERP INSTANCE MANAGER, YOU WILL: 

  • Work closely with the Technical Service Managers (TSM) and Oracle DBA team to establish and implement eBusiness Suite Technical Roadmap (includes upgrades and patches)
  • Work with Corporate IT teams on Tech stack roadmap development and implementation (database, application tiers, Discoverer)
  • Maintain & Manage Oracle Instance Footprint
  • Work with ITSS Oracle DBA team for continual Instance Performance Improvements
  • Patch Analysis, Tracking and Deployment. Ensuring end-state patch level for all Oracle Instances
  • Review current processes for Improvement Opportunities and Implementation
  • Act as single point of contact for ComRes group technical issues related to Oracle EBS Instances
  • Work closely with the Global Data Center & Oracle DBA team to resolve technical issues related to infrastructure & EBS Applications
  • Engage with Emergency Operation Center (EOC) on critical issues and represent ComRes Oracle Operations to resolve issues supporting established SLAs
  • Communicate issues clearly using both technical and non-technical language to appropriate stake holders during critical issue management
  • Provide support to global projects and production support teams in terms of instance request, patching & Clonin request, technical requests and issue resolution
  • Manage small technology projects and implementation with the assistance of PMO
  • Manage & Maintain Production Instance maintenance windows and yearly maintenance Calendar
  • Responsible for executing Maintenance windows and technical cut-overs working along with TSMs

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of IT experience supporting & managing large Oracle EBS Suite environments
  • 5+ years IT experience managing project(s)
  • Must have extensive knowledge and direct experience supporting Oracle Applications Suite
  • Must have direct experience within a large production product/service ERP environment
  • Thorough understanding of distributed systems architecture and comprehensive knowledge of multiple technica disciplines (i.e. servers, databases, middleware, storage)
  • Ability to Triage and solve complex problems
  • Demonstrate accountability, leadership, independent initiatives and willingness to lead and work with teams across multiple locations and time-zones
  • Experience with industry standard project management, software development and support processes and best practices desired, including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action
  • Ability to lead disparate teams consisting of customers, vendors, and peer organizations through informal reporting relationships required.
  • Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers
  • Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems
  • Travel requirements of 0-5%
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States  

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  


  • ITIL, PMP certifications a plus
  • Ability to conduct and prepare feasibility studies; develop proposals, including estimates for costs, schedule, and Resources    
  • Previous Emerson work experience
