HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR TEAM:
A Deburr Technician works as part of the machine shop department taking direction from the shop Lead and/or group leader. Operates appropriate equipment to deburr, establish grain finishes, polish, and install hardware into final machined goods. Works closely with the Lead and Quality Inspector to provide final detail efforts to manufacture parts that meet or exceed Ferrotec's workmanship standards. Standards include a high level of cosmetic emphasis on all piece parts manufactured within the machine shop. Safety shoes and safety glasses with side shields are required.
A Deburr Technician must be competent in understanding the sensitive nature of handling machined metal parts and the impact that carelessness can have toward its overall success toward a finished good. A steady hand and great attention to detail is required. Knowledge of different kinds of metals and how to address each

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Showcases a high attention to detail
Deburrs precision machined parts using files, scrapers, countersink, & deburring tools
Effectively utilizes orbital sanders to sand and scotch precision machined parts
Installs hardware utilizing helicoil installers, drill press, and other prescribed methods
Cleans parts using water, solvent, alcohol, air blower, and other prescribed methods
Grinds welds per drawing specifications
Accurately cuts raw materials on a vertical band saw to prepare for machinists
Reviews and inspects incoming material
Performs light duty facility maintenance: sweep floors & empty garbage
Maintains equipment and tools in a condition that does not compromise safety
Follows all safe work practices & safety rules
Maintains a clean and safe work area and complies with the company's safety requirements
Will be asked to drive company truck to make deliveries and/or pick-ups within Bay Area
