Position Summary:

The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for the planning,
design, installation and support of datacenter and campus networks including
both Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure. The
Sr. Network Engineer follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing
situations involving readily identifiable problems. Assists in the planning of
large scale projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.

 

Overall Responsibilities:

·        Responsible for identification and installation
of hardware, software and network purchases in accordance with company policy.

·        Works with the managed services
provider in maintaining the company’s WAN infrastructure in compliance with all
applicable standards.

·        Responsible for the creation of
technology roadmaps and associated budget for network infrastructure.

·        Performs complex tasks relating to network
monitoring, operations, and maintenance.

·        Provides level 3 support and resolution of open
IT issues.

·        Develops project plans and oversees the
implementation of all network implementation activities of small to medium
level of complexity.

·        Builds, maintains, and manages strong vendor
relationships to resolve problems and coordinate the delivery of IT products
and services.

·        Ensures that assets are responsibly maintained, inventoried
and/or disposed of properly.

·        Draft reports, business correspondence and
procedures manuals.

·        Participates in 24 x7 on-call rotation.

·        Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

 

Job
Requirements:

·        High
school diploma or GED.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience
designing, implementing and supporting highly redundant, secure, multi-tenant
data center and campus network architectures.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience operating
Cisco NX-OS, IOS-XE, IOS, ASA platforms.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience
designing, implementing and supporting controller-based Cisco Wireless
Infrastructure.

·        Minimum of 3 years of experience in the
implementation and support of Cisco site-to-site and AnyConnect VPN Solutions.

·        High
degree of understanding of the following core network services and features:
DHCP, DNS, SYSLOG, TACACS+, NTP, NetFlow, SNMP, STP, PVLAN, etherchannel, vPC,
IP SLA, NAT, VRF, Multiple Context ASA and SIP.

·        Minimum
of 5 years of experience in deployment and support of the following dynamic
routing protocols: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Enhanced Interior Gateway
Routing Protocol (EIGRP), and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), with and without
route redistribution, within a global enterprise
environment.

 

Preferred:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.

·        Familiarity with the following:

•        Deployment and support of Cisco IPS/IDS
services on Cisco ASA devices

•        Cisco ISE

•        Citrix
NetScaler Appliances including SSL Offload with Content Switching

•        Fortinet
firewall and Forticlient

•        Meraki Switching, Wireless and
Security Appliances

•        Unified Communications platforms
such as Avaya Aura.

•        Software Defined Wide Area Networks
(SD-WAN) and Software Defined Access (SD-Access)

•        Integration and support of RSA
SecurID Dual Factor Authentication (or equivalent) with Cisco AnyConnect and
Forticlient VPN Solution.

·        Relevant
technical certifications such as CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

·        Relevant
technical certifications such as CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

·        Project
Management Certification (PMP)

 

Other:

 

·        Understands
the need for and consistently practices effective teamwork.

·        Ability
to interact with IT personnel on all levels to resolve issues and provide
solutions in a timely manner.

·        Capable
of prioritizing and managing assignments, tasks, and projects to completion
with minimal supervision.

·        Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.

·        Ability
to maintain a detail-oriented approach while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

 

Physical
Demands & Work Environment: 

 

While performing the duties of this job the employee
requires mobility, the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols as
well as hand/eye coordination. The employee regularly sits for long periods of
time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with
hands and arms. The employee regularly uses office equipment such as multi-line
telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator. Employee will
regularly use a computer for extended periods of time. The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
