About the job

This is a hands-on managerial position that involves administering department policies, programs and practices, including ensuring the integrity of accounting information by researching, verifying, consolidating, planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and directing. The Accounting Manager is responsible for driving the month-end close process. This position ensures timely and accurate financials and oversees all accounting staff.

What you’ll do


  • Manage the daily operations of the accounting department including:


    • Full cycle accounts payable in Bill.com

    • Accounts receivable within a medical billing environment.

    • Perform detailed review of monthly general ledger and financial statements to ensure accuracy and adherence to GAAP at month-end and year-end. 

    • Cash management, treasury, and forecasting

    • Annual insurance contract negotiation and renewal

    • Lease administration

    • Monthly variance analysis on revenue and expenses

    • Fixed asset activity

    • Debt activity


  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports or statements.

  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

  • Evaluate internal controls for weaknesses and opportunities to improve the process and propose corrective action.

  • Coordinate and manage the completion of financial and other compliance related audits.

  • Provide recommendations of systems, processes, and software that automate internal accounting process and improve efficiency.

  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.

  • Drive the month-end process. Provide support, guidance, and feed-back to Managers and Accounting staff to ensure that month-end reports are completed in a timely manner.

  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.

What you’ll bring


  • 5+ years accounting/finance experience with proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to direct and supervise.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and analytical skills

  • Ability to supervise accounting staff (1-3 people)
