Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician in a poultry plant is primarily responsible for ensuring all equipment is operational, and working properly, and completing all repairs in a timely manner.

3rd Shift position with typical work hours 7:00 pm to 7:00 am

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily maintenance of equipment and facilities

  • Record and document all maintenance performed

  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance

  • Rebuild equipment as requested

  • All other relevant duties and projects as requested

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with technical certification preferred

  • Good communication skills

  • 1+ years previous manufacturing repair experience, preferably within poultry industry

  • 1+ years mechanical diagnostics and repair experience

  • Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting three wire circuits

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and design

  • Self starter with ability to work with little supervision

  • Good work record and team player

Physical/Environmental Factors:

  • Cold, damp, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees

  • Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels

  • Exposure to strong odors, including ammonia

  • Climb stairs, frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, bend, twist, push, pull and lift

  • Manual dexterity of hands and wrists
