Job Description:
Safe Work Permitting - Provide Electrical Expertise for Corporate Facilities PMO Construction projects regarding services associated with major tenant improvements, space reconfiguration projects, new construction projects, and new infrastructure / upgrade projects within assigned properties in the Texas Gulf Coast.
Essential Job Duties:
Operate in the area of Subject Matter Expert in the area of Electrical Specialist and lend expertise for the benefit of Corporate Facilities PMO projects.
Analyze and troubleshoot electrical problems with equipment and systems for PMO projects
Coordinate Texas Gulf Coast projects for adequate project electrical safe work & permitting with safety coverage including assistance in conducting site safety review and coordinate with CM for project safety concerns.
Complete proper project initial, and close out walks, with documentation for all items pertaining to Safe Work Permits and associated forms including/ but not limited to: IOES, LOTO, Hot work, LC Guards, Elevated work, etc.
Responsible for managing the adherence to the Dow construction safety standards, field inspections, interventions and documenting site observations.
Report and maintain effective communications regarding the site safety, and any issues to CM, PM, and the leadership steering team.
Time Parameters:
This is a full time role assuming an average of 40 hrs. /week, Monday - Friday with occasional overtime as the project requires.
Function:
All candidates should be familiar and experienced in office and laboratory projects, large relocations, and demising activities. In addition, having experience within Dow and knowledge of Dow safety systems and programs is a plus. Operate as subject matter expert in the area of Electrical work and safe work permitting is a plus.
Skills, Education and Experience:
Technical Degree or certificate preferred but require High school or equivalent as minimum.
+3 years Safe Work Permitting and Isolation of Energy Experience in Industrial / Laboratory projects required
+3 years Facilities / Construction years' experience in Project activities preferred
BS degree in Instrumentation / Controls Engineering or; Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of related experience in an industrial environment or; 2-year technical degree with 10+ years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation and controls in an industrial environment.
Experience in commissioning activities such as: Utility infrastructure, life safety, electrical power systems, low voltage systems, building/facility systems/components, and facility O&M
Working knowledge of NFPA, NETA and NICET electrical testing and code requirements
Understanding and implementing designs from technical drawings providing SME to the CF PMO
Inspecting / verification of electrical components during, and after product installation
Testing / troubleshooting electronics for deficiencies and proposing solutions
Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams
Inspection and clearing electrical components, including transformers and circuit breakers
Use testing devices to identify / report electrical problems
Adhere to Dow standards and to state and local building regulations
Interacting with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication
Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams
