Security Officer III

Location: Kohler, WI

Opportunity

Kohler Co. is currently seeking qualified candidates to apply for a critical leadership position with our Security Operations Center (SOC) team. This officer position is responsible for all aspects of security operations during each shift. The role requires flexibility in shift scheduling, as the SOC operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The position would be on a four on/four off, 12-hour schedule, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am CST. Responsibilities include monitoring security technology systems, such as cameras, alarms, access control, and other life safety systems for North America and providing dispatch to incidents via telephone and radio.

Qualified candidates will have a proven track record of remaining calm and composed during emergencies, appropriately analyzing situations, and providing the appropriate support and notifications to responding officers. They must also be organized, adept at multi-tasking, and possess strong professional written and oral communication skills. They will be in contact with senior executives, the general public, and emergency responders. Multi-tasking and effective decision making during stressful situations is a must for this position.

Skills/Requirements

  • High School education; two year college degree preferred (Police Science, Criminal Justice, Police Administration or Liberal Arts).
  • Law enforcement, industrial security, or Military Police experience preferred.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license.
  • Has certification in First Responders and/or can obtain certification and certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Physical Requirements:

The minimum physical requirements of Security Team Leaders and Officers include:

  • The ability to transport emergency medical equipment, such as medical bags and oxygen equipment, weighing approximately 50 pounds, from a vehicle to the scene of the emergency and appropriately utilize such equipment at the scene.
  • The ability to ascend and descend fixed or portable ladders to access roof and other areas in the event of an emergency.
  • The ability to be certified and correctly perform CPR, unassisted, as defined by the American Heart Association and operate an automatic external defibrillator.
  • Be able to provide verbal instructions, in the English language, to other English speakers in an emergency situation in a clear and intelligible manner.
  • The ability to legally operate a passenger automobile or light truck.
Preferred general knowledge in:

  • Safety and Security: have a general knowledge of rules, regulations, and procedures related to security/safety procedures, such as CPR/first aid, incident management, and scene/incident investigations.
  • Customer Service: understand the importance of providing excellent customer service.
  • Telecommunications: know about telecommunications systems, which may include transmission, broadcasting, and switching between systems, and computerized databases, including teletype operations and procedures. Further, understand necessary dispatch codes and standard abbreviations, and industry terminology commonly used by emergency medical services and law enforcement agencies.
